Recession ...probably there is a positive side to it!
Switzerland...what I learnt from you
Switzerland... For anyone especially an Indian Switzerland has the "wow" factor! I have been extremely lucky to have taken my first flight outside India directly to Zurich! It's now been almost three years that I am here and the country just keeps fascinating me everyday. Yes of course it is a developed country with immense wealth but there is quite a lot that can be learnt from the Swiss.
Punctuality:
Each one of us has heard about the punctuality of the Swiss. But what many may not know is that you will see hundreds of clocks in any city you go. All watches perfectly synchronized to the second. I actually felt this is probably to remind everyone about the importance of time ;)
The whole country seems to operate by the precision of the minute.
In case you happen to work here, do remember that it is considered rude and casual if you are late for a meeting. People are generally before time, not even on time, forget late! 2 minutes past they all start looking at their watches if everyone is not in for the meeting!
And if you have come as a tourist I bet you will be surprised when you get an itinerary with details of the number of minutes you will need to walk if you need to change from a train to a bus. “4 minutes walk? Are you sure we will make it such a short time?” asked my dad. This is one of the most amazing things for every Indian who comes to Switzerland. It is only then that you realize that 4 minutes are quite a lot!!
